Nuraghe Serbissi - TAQUISARA CAVE

Go to content
The Nuraghe Serbissi is located at 964 m altitude, on the "Tacco di Osini", but in the Municipality of Gairo. The presence of the Cave and the unquestionable panoramic position could have been the first reason for settlement, on a limestone relief, naturally shaped by small squares. Besides the nuraghe in tholos, there is a small village with eight huts. The area was frequented from the XVII c. BC. to the X c. BC. The nuraghe has Trilobate planimetry, with three towers leaning on a central. The tower has a diameter of 4 m and a minimum of 3 m and rises to a height of 6 m. The bastion is 32 m long and connects the central tower to the "Tower A" (the smallest of the 4 towers), which has 2 overlapping floors. The environment could be a warehouse. A silo where food was stored. At the E door of the internal entrance and the wall was set the fireplace formed by a red clay floor supported by clay (solidified), mixed between ash and ceramic fragments in good condition. Tower B, which was renovated in 2001, was severely damaged. Tower C, on the other hand, is an irregularly circular room, included in the wall curtain of the bastion, designed to leave the terraced floor on which to elevate the room. Besides the beauty of the landscape of this place and the views that can be seen from it, the nuraghe is objectively interesting to understand the social and constructive logics adopted.
